Dr. Josh Wilson - Interim Pastor
A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Josh received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. He went on to receive a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In May 2019, he completed a Doctorate of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Josh has been in full time ministry since 2005. He served as Middle School Pastor at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has served as Senior Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Andalusia, Alabama, and most recently at Immanuel Baptist Church in Pace, Florida.
Josh and his wife, Tamara, have been married for 16 years. They have three sons: Ridge (14), Cade (12), and Pate (10). The aim of Josh’s life and ministry is to proclaim the power of the Gospel through His life and ministry.
Sammy Pipkins - Worship Pastor
Sammy moved to Pensacola in 1985 to continue a music career traveling across the United States and Canada singing and ministering in churches doing southern gospel music. After about a year and a half, Sammy left the group and quit traveling to be home with family.
Sammy worked with the Waterfront Rescue Mission, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, while also woking part-time in the local Church leading worship. He accepted the full-time call to ministry in 1995 and began working at Heritage Baptist Church. With the exception of around four years, all of his worship ministry has been at Heritage.
Sammy has a passion to use music as a vehicle to draw people closer to God, and to lead our congregation to worship and have a more intimate relationship with Him.
Sammy is married to C.J. Pipkins. They have three children, Chelsea Windham, Cassidy Shepherd, and Caleb Pipkins. They also have six grandchildren.
Melissa Schubeck - Childrens/Preschool Director
Born and raised here in Pensacola, Florida, Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Florida and her Master of Arts degree in Reading from the University of West Florida. Melissa taught 6th grade at Ransom Middle School for 6 years before becoming a stay at home mom.
Melissa has served in the children’s department with her husband, at Heritage for 22 years with 15 of those as the Children’s Director. She began as a volunteer and then proceeded to part time and eventually the full-time director.
She has been married to Darin Schubeck for 25 years and they have a daughter, Brianna Smith (22) and son, Justin Schubeck (19). Melissa hopes to minister to each child by showing them Jesus’ love, helping them begin a personal relationship with Jesus, and also equipping parents to lead their child spiritually and grow in their own relationship with God
